This is the third painting in my Jamaican flower series, and clearly a bold, distinctive shape, and yet it hides behind the leaves of so many plants. I would guess almost everyone on that busy pathway passes this remarkable beauty without a care.

My goal is to create acrylic and watercolour paintings that reflect the beauty and uncertainty in natural settings. Using bold underpainting, strong marks and dramatic value changes, I endeavour to evoke a sense of familiarity, spark a memory and encourage reflection. Moving forward to face a landscape that is forever changed is my challenge for 2022. My artwork reflects this journey.
