"Bok Tower" by Sophie A

Acrylic Paint 8"x10" This is a painting of the Bok Tower, which I visited a few months ago. I used long, loose strokes to show the moss on the trees. Dashes of thick paint depict lily pads and the leaves of bushes. Because this painting is based on the tower, it was set in the center and in front of a bright blue sky. The asymmetrical lily pads and trees offset the tower and prevents the piece from becoming too uniform. The brightness of the lily pads creates interest in shadowed areas of the water that would normally be too dark.
