This is a quality reproduction of my large etching, “Roseate Spoonbill in Flight”. This stunning bird is always a pleasure to watch, one of two large pink birds (Flamingo, rare) found in North America.
I personally make these in the studio with a high-quality printer with 2,800 DPI (dots per square inch). The image was refined, and many proofs were printed to achieve this quality print. (If this was contracted out to a commercial printer, they would never refine the image to its present degree). It is printed on a high grade paper to achieve great color saturation and detail. Residing in sunny Florida gives me ample opportunities to experience these birds firsthand. Through my art I hope to share these complex species, living dinosaurs that have evolved into jewels of nature. Years of birding have perfected my attention to detail.
My etchings are handcrafted with engineering, skill, and creative inspiration. Each one is handmade, then hand painted with transparent watercolors with the finest materials.
I start with a copper plate which is my canvas, and finish with a timeless interpretation of nature.
