Description
I used a hand-dyed cotton thread in shades of turquoise and sea green, with hints of mauve, red, and lavender to embellish the edges of a gold metal butterfly wing with crochet and very tiny, golden rainbow, iridescent seed beads. I used garnet thread to embroider details of the wing and black thread to embroider the body. The wing is attached to a gold chain that closes with a leafy toggle clasp. The necklace is about 20 inches long. The butterfly is about 2 inches long and about 1 1/4 inches wide.

Gossamer Tangles is an outgrowth of my life-long love of crochet and needle arts. The jewelry I design and make is one-of-a-kind. I find that conceiving a design in my mind and then bringing it to life between my fingers, instills a remarkable mix of wonder, excitement and satisfaction.
