Lapis lazuli has always been a universal symbol of wisdom and truth, and Persephone was the Greek goddess of spring growth, so these contemporary earrings combine a lot of ancient history. Each knot is constructed of hand cut and hand woven sterling silver rings, and are enhanced by 6mm bezel set natural lapis drops. They are completed by sterling silver French hooks. A pair with white moonstones appear elsewhere in this shop, but for other stone choices, please inquire.

My path to being a metalsmith has been a nontraditional one, and an all too true example of “life is what happens while you’re making other plans”. From my earliest metal working experiences in high school, it was always my intent to return to it as an artistic endeavor, but that goal remained unrealized until years later. A single class led to a renewed fascination with metal work, so eager to learn more, I began to pursue it in earnest by enrolling at a local studio. There I was immersed in all aspects of metalsmithing, laying the foundation for many further studies with private tutors and in numerous independent workshops, art centers and master classes.
Today I am a member of the teaching staff at the Armstrong Tool and Supply, Livonia, MI and the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, Birmingham, MI in addition to teaching private classes and at several local shops. I also serve as President of the Michigan Silversmiths Guild.
Selected recent shows include the Ann Arbor South University and State Street Art Fairs, Royal Oak Art of Fire, Royal Oak, MI, the Belle Isle Art Fair, Detroit, MI, Franklin Art in the Village, Franklin, MI, and Funky Ferndale, Ferndale, MI .
